Anton Corbijn at Stellan HolmPosted by Angelina Jolin on September 3rd, 2010
Stellan Holm Gallery is pleased to announce the release of photographer and film director Anton Corbijn’s latest feature film entitled, “The American.” The film, starring George Clooney, was recently reviewed in The New York Times by movie critic, A. O. Scott:
“Mr. Corbijn, a photographer who turned to filmmaking with “Control,” his moody and measured biography of Ian Curtis, lead singer of the Manchester post-punk band Joy Division, has an eye for natural beauty and a practiced sense of composition. Frame by frame — eagle-eye views of red-tile roofs and glimpses down narrow stone passageways; sex scenes and shots of Mr. Clooney glumly drinking coffee — “The American” is never less than gorgeous.” –A. O. Scott, The New York Times
Stellan Holm Gallery will be pleased to present an exhibition of photographs by Anton Corbijn opening later this fall. This exhibition will be Corbijn’s second at Stellan Holm Gallery, and will feature a new series of evocative, black-and-white portraits of numerous influential artists and musicians.
