Incredible Anders Zorn exhibit opens today at The National Academy on 89th street and fifth avenue, it runs until may 18th
This watercolour is called the cousins from 1882
The curator from the Zorn Museum in Mora/Dalarna/Sweden, Johan Cederlund told some interesting stories about Anders Zorn, he was five times in the US and made portraits that is the main reason some fine Zorn paintings are represented at the fine US museums. Zorn and his wife spent time in Paris and travelled to Spain, Gibraltar, Tangiers and South Africa.
An unusual Zorn painting” my gondola” from 1894
From the wonderful permanent collection “sunrise at Capri” National Academy is also a school.
